I also don't like the somewhat blinding type of light that compact fluorescent bulbs produce without attaching diffusion kits, so if this bulb can produce a softer light without the hassle of attaching a kit every time I change a bulb out, then it's a total win for me. I'd say that would be true for most consumers as well, but the price would have to drop considerably before it would be popularly adopted.
