Well, I do think that religion is the antithesis of science. My point is, what's wrong with that? We all live in our respective subjective worlds. Terence McKenna once made the point that the inherent vicissitudes of our subjective lives are the only things that make life bearable. Science strives for regularity and order and we all believe that EVERYTHING can be studied scientifically when our very existence flies in the face of such a notion. I guess we need to find a balance where we use science to figure things out and to aid in surviving while exploring our subjectivities. I think guys who write articles like this are just too far on one side of the spectrum, you know? Religion is great, if viewed the right way. Religions are great social vehicles, and they supply wonderful symbols for interpreting life.
