What is Air Logic Control?
Air Logic Control (ALC) uses special air valves designed to receive
and transmit air signals which, through the use of an air passage
circuit board, allow designers to create a sequence of operations
that automates a pneumatic system. As industrial processes become
more and more automated, Air Logic Control (ALC) becomes increasingly
important. The need for ALC by designers, engineers, and technicians
grew increasingly up until the advent of Programmable Logic Control
(PLC). However, ALC is not by any means a dead technology, and
is used in many applications today were the need for expensive
and sometimes unreliable PLC’s are not needed. Air Logic
Control provides the means for a relatively inexpensive and extremely
reliable sequence of operations for any automated process.
Useful Applications:
2-hand anti-tie down: both hands must be on buttons to start sequence.
Clamping circuits
Counting circuits
Explosion proof circuits:

Things you may not have known about air logic
control:
Though ALC is the safest way to sequence a machine or process
in an explosion proof area due to the fact that it is an air circuit
with no electric signals, ALC also can work with electric signals.
ALC has the ability to take electric signals to start the sequence
of operations or in fact generate electric signals giving off limits.
Because of this ability ALC can completely integrate with existing
PLCs. With ALC it frees up expensive PLC’s from doing simple
operations and allows for better use of workspace.
How we fit in?
Industrial Air has been designing pneumatic Air Logic circuits
for over 50 years. We are a leader in the Detroit area and provide
the knowledge and experience that enable us to automate any pneumatic
process. Each circuit comes with a detailed blue line drawing and
sequence of operation detail. Industrial Air uses Clippard Minimatic
and Aro / Ingersall-Rand Logic components in all our circuits.
We are also manufacturers representatives of these companies and
can service and design with both logic systems, allowing us to
give our customers the best designs at the best price. Ask us today
to give you a quote on your air logic needs. |
